Creative Critical Reflection

This has been the most challenging but also the most fulfilling project I've ever worked on. The feeling and sensation of watching the final product for the first time were incredible, and it was nice to see how all our hard work paid off. There were many, many late nights during these eight weeks of trying to figure everything out and planning every detail accordingly to how we envisioned it.

Film Opening

It is finally here! After eight weeks of constant discussion and thinking about it all day every day, we are finally done with our film opening. Well technically almost done because I still have work on my Creative Critical Reflection! Anyways, this is a big deal because our vision finally came to life. Thiago, Lorena, and I are extremely proud of it and we had so much fun filming it. We hope you guys love it just as much as we do!!

A special thank you to Dani and Gaby for agreeing to be in it and sharing the excitement with us. They were so open to all of our ideas and surprisingly okay with being covered in blood for an hour or two, along with Thiago, of course. Last but not least thank you to Mrs. Stoklosa for giving us the opportunity to work on this exciting project and always giving us her honest feedback on everything!

Here's the link to our film opening, enjoy!

Editing & Sound

We started editing our project!! I'm extremely excited to see how the final product turns out because filming it was amazing and the shots turned out great! Thiago is going to edit it on Adobe Pro and keep us updated on the progress! In the middle of all the chaos, we completely forgot about the title of our film. We decided on By Your Side because it goes really well with our theme. It has that double meaning where it can be sweet and go with our theme of friendship and growing up, but it also a darker meaning that resonates with the thriller vibes. It pays homage to the stalker in our film and how the antagonist is by their side secretly the entire time, except the main characters are not aware of that.

The original plan was to draw the title and customize it directly to how we envisioned it but we found out the easiest way to draw it is with a tablet and a pen that works with the screen. Unfortunately, none of us have a tablet or a pen, and we don't have the special skills to be able to draw it. Thiago chose the fonts he believe would work best on the screen and simple white color to stand out from the other colors.

I mentioned in a previous post how Thiago got permission to use songs from an artist that he knows and she was extremely sweet about it. Below is her allowing us to use her songs in our film opening. The first song we used is titled "I'll Go Goth" and it was during the short scene where Betty is getting ready in her room. The second song is titled "Ghosts" and you can hear it in the car scene when they are all talking. Both are by Silversphere!
